Bhopal, December 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker Pragya Singh Thakur was drawn into another controversy on Wednesday, when she visited the Makhanlal Chaturvedi University to meet a group of female students sitting on dharna. As she entered the varsity, workers of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) - the students' wing of the Congress - staged a protest against her. They raised the slogan of "aatanki wapas jao (terrorist go back)" as Pragya entered inside the campus.

The Bhopal MP sharply reacted to the slogans raised against her. Speaking to reporters, Pragya claimed that she would be taking legal action against all of them. The NSUI workers are "traitors", she said, adding that they would face penal action for abusing a woman who is occupying a constitutional post. Pragya Thakur Was on Wheelchair, Refused to Co-Operate With Our Staff: SpiceJet on Flight Seating Row.

"They said MP is a terrorist, these words are illegal and indecent. They abused a female MP, on a constitutional post, they are all traitors. I will definitely take action," Pragya told news agency ANI.

Pragya was scheduled to visit the University to meet a group of female students who are up in protest against the varsity administration over attendance issues. The varsity falls under the Bhopal parliamentary constituency, which is represented by the saffron clad politician.

Ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Pragya had joined the BJP and contested from Bhopal against Congress heavyweight Digvijaya Singh. Although she succeeded in defeating the former Madhya Pradesh CM, her candidature drew flak towards the BJP as she is accused of being involved in the 2008 Malegaon terror attack.
