Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also known for his many foreign trips among other things, is under fire from the opposition for the total cost of his trips and visits abroad. An RTI data has revealed that Rs 355 crores have been spent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 41 foreign trips since he became the Prime Minister of India. Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India on 16 May, 2014.
The RTI has also brought to light some other data that was unknown to the public so far. It revealed that the Prime Minister has made 41 trips to more than 50 countries and nations in the 4 years or about 48 months that he has been in power, cost of which is around Rs 355 crores.
The RTI reply was in response to a query filed by an RTI activist from Bengaluru. The Prime Minister has also spent about 165 days in foreign countries as part of his visits abroad after becoming the Prime Minister of India.
The website of the Prime Minister of India has a list on his foreign visits too. The website shows the record of the trips made abroad by the Prime Minister in the 48 months of his tenure. Among Prime Minister Narendra Modi's most expensive trips were the ones he made to France and Germany and also Canada. The Prime Minister's least expensive trip was the Bhutan trip which he made after becoming the Prime Minister of India in 2014.
