The police said that Prahlad Modi sat on a dharna in front of Bagru police station on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway.

Jaipur Police Commissioner, Anand Srivastava, said that two personal security officers (PSOs) to accompany him were waiting for him at Bagru police station. As per the rules, the PSOs have to be with the protectee in the vehicle.

"We showed him the order about providing him two PSOs. The PSOs accompany the protectee in his vehicle but Prahlad Modi was not ready to take them along in his vehicle. He was demanding a separate police vehicle for escorts," said the officer, talking to news agency PTI.

The dharna lasted for an hour. The commissioner informed that Prahlad Modi had to be convinced on the importance of protocol and why he would have to accomodate the two security personnel in his vehicle. He then left with the two personal security officers.
