While addressing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) booth workers from Belagavi, Bidar, Davanagere, Dharwad and Haveri, via video conferencing, The PM said, “Those in power think that just because they've formed the government by hook or crook, they can get away with anything. PM Modi also took a dig on the Congress during the interaction. He said that professionals would prefer the BJP as it is not controlled by a family. The PM stated, “When people come to us to volunteer, let's welcome them with open arms and open minds. There's no ID card needed to serve a great cause. It's natural for professionals to come to BJP as BJP is not family controlled and it stands for development.”

Yesterday, during Jan Abhar rally in Dharamsala, the Prime Minister accused the Congress of trying to “fool” farmers on loan waivers, saying the governments led by the party had not fulfilled its promises in the past. He also claimed that the previous Congress government had similarly misled ex-soldiers on the implementation of their demand for ‘one rank, one pension”.
