New Delhi, April 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial in New Delhi and also took the metro ride for reaching the venue, broke his silence on the Kathua and Unnao rape case and murders without naming the events. The Prime Minister also said that no culprit would be sparred if found guilty. The strong words from the Prime Minister also had immediate effect as the two BJP ministers from the state of Jammu and Kashmir resigned. The two BJP ministers in the Jammu and Kashmir government named Chandra Parkash Ganga and Lal Singh, submitted their resignations to state BJP president Sat Sharma on Friday evening.
Addressing the gathering during Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister assured that justice will be served to the daughters of the country. "Incidents being discussed since past two days cannot be part of a civilised society. As a country, as a society we all are ashamed of it," the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Ministers comment on the recent horrific rape cases in Unnao and Kathua have been welcomed by some but there are citizens questioning as to why did it take so long for the Prime Minister to speak on the issue. The Unnao rape case has proved to be a huge embarrassment for the BJP and Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh with the Allahabad High Court questioning the UP government on why was the MLA Kuldeep Sengar not arrested despite a case registered against him under the POSCO act.
