Lucknow, March 31: Sacked Border Security Force (BSF) constable Tej Bahadur Yadav, who had gone public over "bad food" being allegedly served to the troopers, on Saturday announced that he would be contesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019. Yadav, in a statement of news agency ANI today said that he will question the Prime Minister about the promises he had made. Calling the PM "nakli chowkidar" and himself an "asli chowkidar", he also added that the electoral contest between him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a fight between "asli chowkidar" and "nakli chowkidar". Tej Bahadur Yadav also raised the issue of official status of martyr not being given to the soldiers of paramilitary forces and questioned the pension policy.

The former BSF constable was dismissed from service in the year 2017 after he had released video on the quality of food served to soldiers. Yadav was suspended following a three-month probe in April 2017, said he is not concerned about winning or losing the elections and added that he wants to expose the alleged "corruption within the forces".
