PM Narendra Modi Instructs Ministries to Showcase Achievements And Publicise Key Decisions Using Social Media
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed ministries to showcase their achievements on their websites and publicise key decisions.
New Delhi, July 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who effectively uses social media to reach out to people, has directed ministries to showcase their achievements on their websites and publicise key decisions taken by the government using social media platforms. These instructions from PM Narendra Modi were conveyed to senior bureaucrats by cabinet secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha on Monday.
PM Modi wants ministries to reach out to every person in the country through social media and publicise what the government has done in the first three months (the first 100 days), reported Hindustan Times quoting a secretary-level officer who attended the meeting held by the cabinet secretary. PM also wants all ministries to create dashboards of their performance and display it on their website, the official added. "Within the first month of the new government, a large number of key policy decisions have been announced. The message should go the people that the government has hit the road running," a senior bureaucrat who was present in the meeting was quoted as saying. At present, only a few ministries have proper dashboards that are updated regularly.
In a bid to take "impactful decisions", the Modi government has formed at least ten groups of secretaries to look into major issues and vet schemes before the union cabinet takes the final call on those issues. These groups are responsible for finding solutions for inter-ministerial differences so that a policy can be framed to tackle a pressing issue.
Earlier, PM Modi also issued a slew of instructions for ministers. He asked ministers to give up 'work from home' culture and instructed them to reach office on time every morning. He also asked them to be careful about their tweets and statements in public to avoid any controversy.
