New Delhi, March 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hit out at 'anti-nationals who question and mock India'. Speaking at a media event, PM Modi also slammed opposition parties for questioning armed forces and made scathing attacks on the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi on a range of issues including Rafale deal and farm loan waiver. Without naming the Congress, PM Modi said his government is bringing long-term solutions, while the previous government just gave tokenism.
Highlighting achievements of BJP-led NDA government, PM Modi said previous governments did not bring long-term solutions and neglected soldiers and farmers. Making a veiled attack on Congress President Rahul Gandhi, he said: "Recently we realised how much important for India to have Rafale jets. India is saying if we had Rafale, the results would be stronger. The politics on Rafale to satisfy ego has harmed the country." Continuing his attack on the Gandhi family, PM Modi alleged Congress-led UPA government played politics over the national security. "Why is it that those who have ruled for so many years have so many defence scams from jeeps to tanks. Who is every dealmaker close to? Who is every middleman close to? Every Indian knows," he said. The prime minister also took on Rahul Gandhi for farm loan waiver.
"No economic expert will ever say farm loan waiver will ever solve the agrarian crisis. UPA came out with a farm loan waiver. They love to fight polls on farm loan. However, our government announced PM Kisan Samman Yojna on February 1 and implemented it on February 24. Earlier this time would be taken to decide which family member scheme will be named after," PM Modi said. Narendra Modi Hands Over 'Chadar' for Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
PM Modi said there are external and internal forces who are working to divide India. "The anti-Modi approach of some people has turned into the anti-India approach. They mock at our nation," he said. Hitting out at opposition parties, the prime minister said, "Some opposition leaders are raising doubts on our armed forces for their political gains." "Their remarks are being used by Pakistan against India," he added.
