Surat, January 30: K Ramoliya, the cameraman who fainted during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Surat on Wednesday has given a statement mentioning that dehydration was the cause behind him fainting at the rally. The cameraperson said that he had no water since morning as nobody was allowed to carry water inside the venue as part of the security measure for Prime Minister's speech. He also thanked the Prime Minister for being aware as it was the PM who noticed the cameraman falling and asked officers to help. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stopped his speech at the inauguration of the new terminal building in Surat after observing that a cameraman had fainted.
PM Modi then told the officers to urgently arrange for an ambulance for the cameraman, Kishan Ramolia. He was rushed to the hospital in a 108 Ambulance.

In a somewhat similar incident, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday reached out to a photographer who tripped and fell down from the stairs in an attempt to get a photograph of the mass leader. The incident took place at Bhubaneswar airport, where Gandhi chopper landed en-route to address the interactive session of ‘The Odisha Dialogue’. The social media had applauded the Congress president's gesture of breaking the security protocol to help the photographer.
