Mumbai, April 6: With the controversy over the release date of Vivek Oberoi-starer movie on PM Narendra Modi's biopic gaining political mileage in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, the Bollywood actor has sparked a row with his latest comments on asking the opposition Congress whether they would try to stop RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav's autobiography.

Calling the actions of the Congress and other opposition parties as 'hypocrisy', Oberoi took to Twitter and wrote, "Dear Rahul Gandhi ji, on Monday morning in the Honorable Supreme Court, will you also try to stop your alliance partner Lalu Prasad Yadav ji’s autobiography? Or is it just our film you’re after? Is this not hypocrisy?" PM Narendra Modi Biopic: Supreme Court to Hear Plea on Vivek Oberoi Starrer Film's Release on April 8.

Here's Thew Tweet:

It is to be known that the Supreme Court has fixed April 8 for the hearing on the plea seeking to block the release of a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi that was scheduled to release on April 5, a week before the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Agreeing to hear the plea filed by Congress spokesman Aman Panwar, the bench of Justice S.A. Bobde, Justice S. Abdul Nazeer and Justice Indira Banerjee set the date of Monday. In the plea, Congress spokesman had alleged that the release of Modi biopic ahead of the election would disturb the level playing field.

On the other side, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has written an autobiography of RJD chief and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav, titled "Gopalganj to Raisina-My Political Journey', which is set to be released soon. In chapter 11, there is a line allegedly comparing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with a 'Bandar' (monkey). This has created a political furore in Bihar, with RJD and JD-U accusing each other of playing petty politics.
