Listing out measures taken by India to combat Climate Change, PM Modi said: "We are encouraging e-mobility in the country. We have provided clean cooking gas connections to 150 million families. We have worked in the sphere of water conservation under 'Mission Jal Jeevan" and plan to spend $ 50 million on it. 80 nations are with us in our solar campaign." PM Modi, who was among the first set of speakers, called for "global behavioural change" to fight Climate Change. "We must accept that if we have to overcome such serious challenge, then what we are doing today is not enough. What we need is global behavioural change," he said. "India is here today not just to talk about this serious issue but to present a roadmap. In India, we are going to increase renewable energy capacity," PM Modi added.

PM Modi also invited countries to join a coalition for disaster resilient infrastructure to be launched by India. US President Donald Trump was seen clapping after PM Modi concluded his address at the summit. Over 60 countries have been invited to speak at the Climate Action Summit. The event is being hosted by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in the UN General Assembly chamber.
