New Delhi, May 30: Outgoing Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal took oath as Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet for the second consecutive term on Thursday. With this, he has become the key minister in PM Modi's Cabinet second time in a row.

Though a Rajya Sabha parliamentarian, Goyal played an instrumental role in Lok Sabha Elections 2019 and ensuring a victory for Bharatiya Janata Party crossing 300-mark. Given the additional charge to oversee the electoral management, Goyal made sure BJP crosses the magic figure of 272 in Lok Sabha.

Appointed as Minister of New and Renewable Energy first, Goyal was given the charge Ministry of Power, Coal and Railways. He was even promoted to the post of Union Finance Minister and presented the last interim Budget 2019, when Arun Jaitley went to the United States for treatment.

Considering his good work and delivery of projects in time, it is expected that Goyal would get a key portfolio in the Modi 2.0.
