Srinagar, December 18: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Mehbooba Mufti is mostly to get a shock on Wednesday, with two of her party members are likely to join its arch-rival National Conference. Among the two leaders speculated to join NC are Sangrama constituency’s MLA Bashaarat Bukhari and Peer Mohammad Hussain from south Kashmir.

According to the information, Bukhari will formally resign from the PDP to join the Farooq Abdullah-led party on Wednesday. Also, the other leader Peer Mohammad Hussain is also planning to quit the party today. Haseeb Drabu, Former Finance Minister of Jammu And Kashmir, Quits PDP.

Earlier, stating the difference with Mufti’s leadership, senior leaders Raja Ajaj Ali Khan – contested from Uri – resigned from the party last week. Also, ministers in the PDP government – Haseeb Drabu and Imran Reza Ansari – and lawmakers Abid Ansari and Abas Wani resigned from the party recently.

Soon after resigning from Mufti’s party, Imran and Abid Ansari joined the Peoples Conference, while Khan and Wani are also likely to join the Sajjad Lone-led party.

Considering the defections in the party, Mufti had called for a party meeting with the senior leaders and lawmakers, but several of them skipped it. Now with the speculations two more party leaders quitting the party spreading like wildfire, it would be interesting to see how PDP chief handles it.
