The results of the Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha Constituency has been declared. MP and Congress candidate Anto Antony won the seat yet again with 3,80,927 votes. He won by a margin of 44,243 votes. Other candidates in the fray included Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate K Surendran, Communist Party Of India (Marxist) candidate Veena George and Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) Shibu Parakkadavan. Polling took place for the Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha Constituency in the third phase in the seven-phase polling. Pathanamthitta is a district located in the southern part of Kerala consisting of four municipalities. It is one among the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in Kerala. Pathanamthitta district has the highest literacy rate in the state (96.26%). The Adoor constituency reserved for Scheduled Castes was dissolved to form a new constituency in 2008. Adoor is now an Assembly segment of newly formed Pathanamthitta constituency. The constituency number of Pathanamthitta is 17.

Pathanamthitta saw a three-sided contest with BJP trying to garner Hindu votes in the wake of Supreme Court's verdict allowing menstruating-age women to enter the Sabarimala temple. BJP candidate in the constituency, K Surendran had participated in the protests against the entry of women inside the temple. While Anto Antony Punnathaniyil has won both 2004 and 2014 elections, regional party workers are against his candidatures. Meanwhile, Veena George is a former journalist and won 2016 Assembly elections as an Independent candidate back by the Left. Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha constituency comprises of seven assembly segments including  Kanjirappally, Poonjar, Thiruvalla, Ranni, Aranmula, Konni and Adoor.

The Lok Sabha elections 2019 was held between April 11 and May 19 in seven phases. In Kerala, voting was held in a single phase. During the third phase, the polling was held in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies of 14 states. The counting of votes was held on May 23 and thereafter the results were declared.
