New Delhi, December 23: A day after Paresh Rawal claimed that Myanmar is situated at a distance of 1769 km from India, Congress lawmaker Shashi Tharoor questioned the schooling of leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Retweeting Paresh Rawal's tweet, Shashi Tharoor said that the former BJP MP was not paying attention in geography class. Besides making the false claim on India-Myanmar border, Rawal blamed seculars and intellectuals for illegal Rohingya Muslim infiltration.

"Myanmar to India- 1769 kms...Myanmar to China.- 2km But, Why the Rohingyas want to come to India? and not China? Because Unlike India,

there are no seculars no Intellectuals no anti nationals no in China, who support refugees Rohingyas (sic)," Rawal tweeted on Saturday, forgetting that India and Myanmar share 1,643 km border as informed by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Paresh Rawal Apologises to Dr Kafeel Khan For 2017 Tweet Over Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy, Says 'There is No Shame in Apologising'.

Hitting back at the BJP leader, Tharoor tweeted: "What’s with these BJP netas & their schooling? @AmitShah didn’t pay attention in history class & @sirpareshrawal clearly didn’t pay attention in geography class!" The Congress leader made a similar dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah who held the grand old party responsible for India’s partition on religious lines while introducing the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha earlier this month.

Shashi Tharoor's Response to Paresh Rawal on India-Myanmar Border:

Asked about Shah’s remarks blaming the Congress for the partition on religious lines, Tharoor said, "I think he really was not paying attention in history classes." "The fact is that throughout the freedom struggle, the Congress was the one party that claimed to have represented everyone and stood for an India of all religions," the MP from Thiruvananthapuram said.
