Chandigarh, Sep 6: Counting of votes for Panjab University students' council elections result is underway. As per the initial trends, Students For Society (SFS) is leading for the post of president, while Students Organisation of India (SOI) is ahead for vice president and general secretary's posts. SFS fielded Kanu Priya for president's post. Amandeep Singh from the PSU Lalkaar, Anuj Singh from the NSUI, Iqbalpreet Singh Takhar from the SOI, INSO, ISA, HIMSU, PPSO and HPSU alliance, Ashish Rana from the ABVP, SFPU and HSA alliance and Ravinder Bir Singh Randhawa from the PUSU and HPSU alliance are also in the fray.
Seven candidates contested for vice president and four each for general secretary and joint secretary. The major parties in the fray are National Students Union of India (NSUI), Students for Society (SFS), PSU Lalkaar, Students Organisation of India (SOI), Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Panjab University Students Union (PUSU).
