Chandigarh, December 19: Counting of votes took place for the Haryana Municipal Corporation Elections 2018 on Wednesday. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won mayoral posts all 5 Nagar Nigams - Panipat, Karnal, Hisar, Rohtak and Yamunanagar.  The results of the five municipal corporation elections were declared today. While the BJP had fielded candidates on all wards and mayoral posts, the Congress didn't fight these elections. Candidates supported by the Congress had fought the civic polls this year. Hisar – Gautam Sardana, BJP

Karnal – Renu Gupta, BJP

Panipat – Avneet Kaur, BJP List of Panipat MC Poll Winners.

Rohtak – Manmohan Goyal, BJP

Yamunanagar – Madan Chauhan, BJP

Voting for the Haryana Nagar Nigam Elections took place on December 16. A total voter turnout of over 69 percent was recorded as voting also took place for two municipal committees - Jakhal Mandi and Pundri. While the BJP lost on all Nagar Palika seats, the party was seen winning on Haryana MC seats. The elections come almost a year ahead of the Haryana Assembly Elections 2019.
