Delhi, May 10: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will file a defamation complaint against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) East Delhi candidate Gautam Gambhir for allegedly distributing pamphlets with derogatory remarks against AAP political rival Atishi Marlena. This comes a day after the former Indian cricketer sent a defamation notice to Atishi, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal. "Atishi is a highly educated and an accomplished woman. Her work has been great in the field of education which is being discussed worldwide. "This is the mentality of BJP, even today BJP leaders are saying the same things that were written in the pamphlet. They have filed defamation case against us after defaming us. We are sending defamation notice to Gautam Gambhir today. We will not leave this matter," he added while speaking to media in Delhi.

On Thursday, Atishi broke down saying that she never expected Gambhir taking the electoral fight to an unprecedented low by distributing "derogatory notes." "I never thought he would stoop so low," Atishi said as she broke down.

Gambhir, however, rejected AAP's charge and said he will "resign" if the allegations are proved. "If they can get a proof, I'll resign right now & if they get a proof by 23rd I'll resign on that particular day. But if Arvind Kejriwal does not get the proof, does he accept the challenge that he will leave politics forever on 23rd?, " Gambhir was quoted saying news agency ANI.
