The Shiv Sena is contesting from 18 seats while the BJP has fielded candidates for eight seats. Meanwhile, two seats have been won unopposed by the alliance.
Palghar, March 25: The counting of votes for Palghar Municipal Council will begin shortly. The polling was held from 7.20 AM to 5.30 PM on Sunday, March 25. The counting will be done on Monday. Reports inform that a total of 47,850 voters cast their votes. The result of the Palghar Municipal Council hold great importance as it will prove to be a litmus test for the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance just ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections which are slated to begin from April 11 and will continue till May 19.
According to reports, the Shiv Sena is contesting from 18 seats while the BJP has fielded candidates for eight seats. Meanwhile, two seats have been won unopposed by the alliance.
The Republican Party of India (RPI) has got a major setback as it they have not got any seat this time. It must be noted that the Palghar Municipal Council is currently under the leadership of Shiv Sena. According to a report by TOI, both chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Youth Sena President Aaditya Thackeray jointly campaigned for the candidates on Friday.
