Congress candidate Devti Karma has won Dantewada (ST) assembly bypoll in Maoist-affected Bastar in Chhattisgarh. She defeating her nearest BJP rival Ojaswi Mandavi by a margin of 11,331 votes.
The BJP has won the Hamirpur Assembly bypoll in Uttar Pradesh. BJP's Yuvraj Singh polled a total of 74,500 votes while Manoj Prajapati of SP got 57,300 votes. The BJP won the seat with a margin of over 17,000 votes.

New Delhi, September 27: Results of the assembly by-elections in Kerala's Pala, Chhattisgarh's Dantewada, Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur and Tripura's Badharghat will be declared by the Election Commission today. The counting of votes was scheduled to begin at 8am across all designated centres of the polling body. Voting in the bypolls across the four states was held on September 23. In Dantewada, where the bypolls were necessitated due to the death of incumbent BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi, recorded a 53.25 per cent turnout. In Pali, where Kerala Congress MLA KM Mani passed away in April, recorded 71.41 per cent voting in the bypoll.
In Badharghat, the demise of sitting BJP legislator Dilip Sarkar necessitated the by-elections. A voter turnout of 79.29 per cent was recorded. The lowest electoral participation was seen in Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur, where only 51 per cent voters came out to vote. The bypoll was called due to the conviction of sitting BJP MLA Ashok Kumar Chandel in a murder case.
On October 21, a spree of bypolls in 50 constituencies across the nation, including assembly and parliamentary, is scheduled by the Election Commission. The results of the bypolls will be declared on October 24, along with the outcome of Maharashtra and Haryana assembly polls 2019.
