Results of the five assembly segments in Bargarh district are out and the entire region has been swept by the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). The party has registered its victory in the constituencies Padampur, Bijepur, Bargarh, Attabira and Bhatli. Results of 2014: BJD was the dominating force within these 5 vidhan sabha seats, as the party bagged the maximum - 4 seats, whereas, the BJP had wrested 1 among the above constituencies,

Out of these assembly segments, four - Padampur, Bijepur, Bargarh and Bhatli - are of general category, whereas, Attabira is a reserved seat for the Scheduled Caste (SC) community.

Voting for the Odisha assembly elections 2019 commenced on April 11, when the first phase of the contest was held. As per the scheduled prepared by the polling body, the state will elect its MLAs in four phases, ending on April 29. Results will be declared on May 23. In the last assembly elections, the government of Naveen Patnaik was re-elected to power, with the BJD winning 107 of the 147 vidhan sabha seats, whereas, the Congress and the BJP were restricted to 16 and 10 constituencies, respectively.
