New Delhi, August 21: The Supreme Court will hear former finance minister P Chidambaram's anticipatory bail plea in the INX Media case on Friday. On Wednesday, P Chidambaram's lawyers tried to get the listing of the matter today itself. But the top court said that it will hear the matter on Friday. Meanwhile, the Congress leader continues to remain "untraceable". On Tuesday evening, a CBI and ED team had visited Chidambaram's residence. But Chidambaram remained elusive even as his lawyers were working their best to get the hearing for his bail plea on Wednesday itself. The former union minister also found support from Congress party, as senior leaders including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi tweeted for Chidambaram. The Congress party continues to rally behind Chidambaram, and called the CBI's action against Chidambaram as "vendetta politics." The Delhi High Court Tuesday said the INX media case involving former Union minister P Chidambaram is a “classic case of money laundering” and that his custody was essential for the CBI to take the case against him to a conclusion. Justice Sunil Gaur dismissed Chidambaram’s anticipatory bail plea in the corruption and money laundering cases in the INX Media scam case.
