On Vijayadashami 2019, Mohan Bhagwat Hails Modi Government For Taking Bold Decisions, Says 'RSS Members Not Involved in Mob Lynchings'

Mentioning lynching in his speech, Bhagwat said that RSS members do not get involved in such incidents and that they try to stop it. Bhagwat also claimed that incidents of social violence are projected as lynching to 'defame the country, Hindu Society and create fear among some communities.'

Nagpur, October 8: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, speaking at the annaul Vijayadashami event, spoke on a range of issues including lynchings and the abrogation of Article 370. Mentioning lynching in his speech, Bhagwat said that RSS members do not get involved in such incidents and that they "try to stop it." Talking on the role of media in the society, Bhagwat said that, "Media has a major role in awakening the society & creating a conducive social atmosphere. if the media joins in creating a constructive atmosphere, this endeavour will gain momentum."

On the role of women and the respect they deserve in the society, Bhagwat is of the view that, "A high responsibility of imparting samskars rests in the family. It is a matter of great concern that women feel unsafe today. The sanctity and decency of our culture is to be instilled in the men’s approach towards women." On teacher training and reforms in the field of education, Bhagwat added, "We feel the need for a radical transformation from curriculum to teachers’ training. This cannot be achieved through mere structural changes."
