New Delhi, October 13: Ramping up his Dalit outreach ahead of the Delhi assembly elections 2020, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the national capital will ensure Dalit students become doctors and engineers. "No one should leave their dreams of becoming a doctor or engineer unfulfilled due to lack of money. The Delhi government will provide the cost of coaching in medical or engineering if any student wants to pursue it but cannot afford," Kejriwal said in Wazirpur's JJ colony on Sunday. The AAP chief further highlighted the various schemes introduced by the Delhi government to help the Dalit community.

On the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, the AAP organised various events in the national capital, apparently to increase the party's Dalit outreach ahead of the 2020 Delhi assembly elections. Capitalising on the Dalit and Valmiki vote banks is believed to be one of the campaign strategies of AAP, India Today reported. With just four months to go for polls in Delhi, the Kejriwal-led party has geared up for campaigning.

Kejriwal will hold closed-door district-level meetings with booth workers from October 16 to analyse the situation on the ground. According to senior AAP leader Gopal Rai, the Chief Minister will address closed-door meetings of booth-level party workers in all 14 districts. Assembly polls are scheduled to be held in Delhi early next year. The AAP stormed to power by winning 67 out of the 70 seats in the 2015 Delhi assembly elections.
