On 'Frequent IAS Transfers', Congress Says BJP-led Maharashtra Govt Wants to 'Make Bureaucrats Their Puppets'
Congress Sachin Sawant in an official media statement has allegedly claimed the bureaucrats are not working as per the wish of BJP government, therefore, they are being targeted.
Mumbai April 17: The Mumbai Congress party spokesperson Sachin Sawant slammed the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP)-led state government of Maharashtra for frequently transferring Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the state. Sawant in an official media statement has allegedly claimed these bureaucrats are not working as per the wish of BJP government, therefore, they are being targeted.
Sawant further alleged the IAS officers who recently joined and not even completed two years of tenure those officers names are also in the transfer order list. However, the officials from CM's office over the transfer stated that its a mere routine exercise which is being carried out in the month of April-May.
Meanwhile, Sawant also claimed that if one will check the list of IAS officers who have been transferred in BJP regime, in last four years time period it will be a record break. Also, BJP is trying to make bureaucrats their puppets and so this is being done purposely he added.
The Maharashtra state government shuffled 28 IAS officers of major cities which includes Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and other on April 13, 2018. The transfer list includes name of Mumbai city collector Sampada Mehta who has been now posted as Commissioner, Marketing of Navi Mumbai and Dipendra Singh Kushwah, collector, Mumbai Suburban District, has been posted as Joint Commissioner, Sales Tax, Mumbai and other IAS officers.
