New Delhi, June 20: Hours after Union Minister Arun Jaitley announced the premature exit of Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian, Congress president Rahul Gandhi took a poetic jibe against the Centre, saying the "brightest talent" is fleeing out allowing the "invisible hand of the RSS" to take over.
Rahul's barb comes at a time when the Congress has accused the Narendra Modi government of acting as per the whims and fancies of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the parental body of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
In his poetic jibe, the Gandhi scion expressed astonishment at Jaitley "breaking the news" of the Chief Economic Advisor's exit on Facebook, while the Finance Ministry is being headed by his successor Piyush Goyal, whom Rahul referred to as the "BJP treasurer".
The Congress chief also took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying 'Captain DeMO' - referring to him being sole authority who approved the demonetisation drive - "is fast asleep" amid what the Opposition is referring to as chaos.
Ex ? FM is locked in his room, breaking news on FaceBook.
BJP Treasurer has the keys to the Indian Economy.
The brightest flee the sinking ship, as the “invisible hand” of the RSS steers it onto the rocks.
Meanwhile, Captain DeMo is fast asleep.
It’s crazy out there !

Earlier in the day, Jaitley shared his blog on Facebook paying tribute to Subramanian, who has been serving as the Chief Economic Advisor since October 16, 2014. Although his tenure was slated to continue till May 2019, Jaitley said he was forced to approve his premature exit due to certain "family commitments" of Subramanian.
Subramanian is the third US-educated economist who would be discontinuing his services to the Indian government in the past two years. The first exit came in 2016, when the then Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan returned to the US after being reportedly not offered a second term. Niti Aayog vice-chief Arvind Panagariya was the next to head back to Washington last year.
