Nusrat Jahan, TMC Candidate, Greeted by Scores of Fans With Selfie Request; Stage Collapses

Kolkata, May 8: A minor accident occurred at a public gathering of  Trinamool Congress leader and popular Bengali actress Nusrat Jahan in West Bengal on Wednesday. The stage collapsed when people stormed to get a selfie with Nusrat Jahan during a rally of the ruling celebrity candidate in Jhargram today. As the stage was not very high, no one was injured in the incident. Reports inform that the incident took place at Gopiballabhpore. According to reports, after the stage crashed, the TMC leader, who has been a huge crowdpuller for the Trinamool, took the mic and informed the gathering that everything was fine and no one was unhurt.

Nusrat Jahan, 29, is a TMC candidate from the Basirhat constituency in West Bengal, which will go for the polls in the seventh phase on May 19. Nine constituencies are Dumdum, Barasat, Basirhat, Joynagar, Mathurapur, Diamond Harbour, Jadavpur, Kol Dakshin and Kolkata Uttar.

In April, Jahan filed her nomination for the Basirhat parliamentary constituency in West Bengal. Accompanied by a large number of Trinamool activists, the 28-year-old Bengali film actress, filed her nomination at the District administrative office in North 24 Parganas.
