'NPR, NRC More Disastrous Than Demonetisation': Rahul Gandhi Targets Modi Government
Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the National Population Register (NPR) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) are more disastrous than the note ban in November 2016. He said that the NPR and NRC will have twice the impact to demonetisation.
New Delhi, December 28: Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the National Population Register (NPR) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) are more disastrous than the note ban in November 2016. He said that the NPR and NRC will have twice the impact to demonetisation. The former Congress president made these comments while speaking to media at the AICC (All India Congress Committee) headquarters in New Delhi on the occasion of 135th foundation day of the party.
Gandhi said that the basic idea of NPR and NRC is to ask poor whether they are Indian are not. “This will be more disastrous for people than demonetisation. This will have twice the impact of demonetisation,” he said. Rahul Gandhi Reiterates 'PM Lies' Comment, Asks People to Decide Who is Lying.
Targeting Bharatiya Janata Party government over allegations that it is working to benefit the "15 crony capitalists", the Gandhi scion said, "His (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) 15 friends will not have to show any document and the money generated will go into the pockets if those 15 people."
Responding to a question over his allegation that Prime Minister lied about no detention centres in India, Gandhi said, "I have tweeted a video where Narendra Modi is saying that there are no detention centres in India, and in the same video there are visuals of a detention centre." The Congress leader also asked people to decide who is lying.
