Mumbai, July 10: Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde, has come under fire and has become the subject of Mumbaikars fury for his comment on Mumbai rains and the need to declare a holiday for schools and colleges. Minister Tawde, in his statement, said that "Disaster Management has reported that there is no situation of water logging in Mumbai. Concerned authorities are keeping a track of the situation."

Mumbai has been facing waterlogging issues as it has been raining heavily since the past 72 hours now. The Twitter users and Mumbaikars are particularly angry with the fact that instead of helping Mumbai get over rain related issues, the minister even refused to acknowledge that there is a waterlogging issue in the city. Meanwhile, weather agency Skymet Weather has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai and surrounding areas over the next 24 hours.
