Nagpur, March 4: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had been proposing new ideas for the development for the country ever since he became a minister. In the latest, he proposed an idea to help the ailing farmers of the country, he urged the people to ‘make urea from urine’. The BJP stalwart also opined that ‘if it is done, India will not need to import fertiliser’ while addressing a gathering of young innovators at the Mayor Innovation Awards function of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Sunday.

Speaking at the venue – where he was the chief guest – Gadkari lamented his out-of-idea to help the farmers’ earn more by spending less. In support of his argument, he also gave an example of how biofuels can be extracted from natural waste. Adding on, he said, ‘human urine can be useful for making biofuel, and it can also yield ammonium sulfate and nitrogen'. Nitin Gadkari Rules Himself Out of Prime Ministerial Race in Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

The Union Minister even said that people do not co-operate with him because his ideas are fantastic. He said, as quoted by PTI, “I have asked for storage of urine at airports. We import urea, but if we start storing urine of entire country then we will not need to import urea, so much potential it has, and nothing will be wasted. Other people do not cooperate with me because all my ideas are fantastic.”

Claiming that many municipal corporations will not pay heed to this idea, Gadkari said, “Even the (municipal) corporation will not help, because, in government, people are trained to be like (blinkered) bulls who walk in the rut, not looking here and there.”

This is not the first time Gadkari has said something out-of-the-box. Earlier too, the minister had said that he himself had stored his own urine and used it as fertiliser for the garden at his official bungalow in Delhi. Adding on, he claims that the use of amino acid extracted from human hair waste, which can be used as a fertiliser and boost production of farms by 25 per cent.
