New Delhi, January 16: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday interacted with the team of the Movie, Uri: The Surgical Strike at the 'at home' function of Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on the occasion of Army Day. She also congratulated the filmmakers for making 'a slick war movie’. The Defence Minister tweeted, “At COAS Bipin Rawat’s #ArmyDay “at home”, with the team of the film #URITheSurgicalStrike. Yet to watch it, but hearing many good things. The actors of the movie, Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam also replied to Sitharaman’s and thanked the defence minister for her encouraging words. The film which was released on January 11 is based on surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir after the terrorist attack on its base camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri. The movie is inching closer to towards the Rs 50 crore mark. After getting off to a great start on day 1, the action thriller ended up earning Rs 35.73 crore in the opening weekend itself. The film continued its golden run at the ticket windows and passed the crucial Monday test with flying colours.
