Bulandshahr, April 4: The Lok Sabha Elections for 543 seats are in full swing, and the first phase of the poll will take place on April 11. Considering the timing of the elections, Union Minister Rajnath Singh – during campaigning for BJP in Bulandshahr – stated that economic defaulters like Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and Vijay Mallya fled India because of chokkana (awakened) chowkidar ruling the country. He opined that these offenders would be brought to justice if BJP retains power in the upcoming elections.
Addressing a rally of around 10,000 people organised at Jhajhar village in Bulandshahr on Thursday, Singh said, as Hindustan Times reported, “During the Congress rule, economic defaulters did not flee as they were sheltered. But now Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi, Vijay Mallya have fled because there is a chokkana (awakened) chowkidar ruling the country... We will drag them into court soon.” Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Phase I: List of States And Constituencies Voting On April 11.
Reiterating his comment of ‘strong India’ under the PM Narendra Modi’s government and action taken against Pakistan, the Union Minister said, as the daily quotes, “Pakistan’s bad days have come due to its actions. When the Central Reserve Police Force’s 42 soldiers were martyred, the Prime Minister called an immediate meeting. And then you saw how we destroyed terror camps on Pakistan’s soil. The important point is that since we believe in respecting our neighbours, we made sure Pakistan’s citizens were not hurt and also we did not attack Pakistan’s army. We only attacked terror camps.”
Adding on, he said, “Since we acted against terror on Pakistan’s soil, America also praised Bharat (India). It was because India is now one of the strongest countries in the world.” During his 40-minute speech, Singh appealed to the people to vote for sitting MP and Union Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma from Gautam Budh Nagar Lok Sabha constituency.
