Mumbai, December 31: The after-effects of the Maharashtra cabinet expansion has already started to show in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in the state. A day after the cabinet expansion, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Prakash Solanke announced his resignation, said reports. Solanke represents the Majalgaon seat in Beed district in Maharashtra. The leader said in his resignation that his resignation is because "he is unfit to do politics." However, reports suggest that Solanke is miffed at not finding a place in the Cabinet. The news of Prakash Solanke resigning comes when talks in political circles are rife about the developing cracks in the alliance parties over being excluded from ministerial berths. The five-time MLA from Majalgaon, is reported to have said that his exclusion from the cabinet expansion is a signal that he is inept in current political situation. However, the NCP lawmaker said after his veiled attack that he is not upset with any party leader.

Meanwhile, reports said that Congress leaders in Maharashtra are not happy with the cabinet expansion. Shiv Sena leaders have also expressed their displeasure over the cabinet snub. However, the leaders are not expressing it openly as they have been assured by Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray that their demands will be looked into.
