The Election Commission has declared the Lok Sabha elections 2019 results in Nawada, along with other parliamentary constituencies across the nation. Chandan Singh of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has been named the winner. Nawada, constituency no.39, went to polls in the first phase. Notification for the polls in Nawada, along with other seats scheduled to be contested in the first phase, has been released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on March 18. The aspirants were allowed to file their candidatures till March 25. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has given the ticket to LJP leader Chandan Kumar, whereas, the Mahagathbandhan candidate from the seat is Vibha Devi of RJD.

In the 2014 general elections, Nawada was won by BJP veteran Giriraj Singh by a margin of more than 1.40 lakh votes. Singh has not been fielded this time from Nawada, as the BJP decided to allot the seat to its ally, Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).
