Speaking to Jagbani, the former MLA said that her main aim is the development of Sidhu’s constituency in Amritsar. She added that she would even stage protest against the government if it does not work for the development of people of Amritsar. Responding to Sidhu’s exit from the Punjab cabinet, she said that her husband has always spoken truth.

Navjot tendered her resignation months after she was not given ticket from Chandigarh Lok Sabha Constituency in the recently concluded parliamentary polls.
