New Delhi, May 30: Hours before taking oath for the second term, Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi reiterated his staunch approach on national security, claiming that strengthening the nation externally and internally will remain one of the topmost priority of his government. The PM-elect issued the statement on social media shortly after visiting the Rashtriya Samar Smarak and paying tribute at the National War Memorial.
"India is proud of all those brave men and women martyred in the line of duty. Paid tributes to our brave soldiers at the Rashtriya Samar Smarak," Modi said after visiting the Memorial.
"Our Government will leave no stone unturned to safeguard India’s unity and integrity. National security is our priority," he added.

Apart from visiting the Rashtriya Samar Smarak, Modi also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and late former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Sadaiv Atal Samidhi in Delhi.
Later today, at 7 pm, Modi would be administered oath to office along with his Council of Ministers by President Ram Nath Kovind. The ceremony would be witnessed by nearly 6,500 esteemed personalities. Among chief guests, include the heads of states of BIMSTEC nations, the President of Kyrgyz Republic and the Prime Minister of Mauritius.
