New Delhi, November 13: In a major cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, the government assigned the additional charge of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. The post was earlier headed by late Union Minister Ananth Kumar. Along with Tomar, an additional charge of the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers has been assigned to Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda. Along with Gowda. Gowda is originally the Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation in the Government of India while Narendra Singh Tomar is the Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Mines in the Government of India.

In May, Union Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal was temporarily assigned the additional responsibility of handling finance ministry, along with managing the railways and coal ministries. Goyal was given the additional charge as finance minister till Arun Jaitley was recovering from a kidney transplant after a surgery conducted on him at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Earlier this year, Union Minister Smriti Irani was also replaced by Rajyavardhan Rathore as the Information and Broadcasting minister. She was earlier replaced by Prakash Javadekar as the HRD minister.
