New Delhi, April 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to observe a one-day fast to mark dissent against the washout of the recent Budget Session of the Parliament drew ridicule from the Opposition which called it a farce. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a tongue-in-cheek jibe on Twitter, calling it a protest "against himself".
"Now that’s really cute .... just one day fast... against himself (sic)," the AAP convenor said. Earlier, the Congress accused the Prime Minister of misleading the nation by pinning the blame on Opposition for the Parliament washout.

The Congress demanded PM Modi to also observe a fast to protest the "atrocities being committed" against the vulnerable sections of the society by "the cadres of the ruling party".
"This is a farce of a fast by PM Modi and BJP. The fast should be to seek an apology from the children whose lives have been jeopardised due to the CBSE and SSC scams. They should tender an apology to the Dalits," added Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.
Along with PM Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and several party lawmakers will be observing the fast.
A day earlier, senior Congress leaders in Delhi, including party president Rahul Gandhi observed a fast to raise concern against the rising threat to communal harmony in the nation.
The BJP had called the fast a farce, accusing the Congress of playing "vicious caste and appeasement politics" which is dividing the nation.
