'Narendra Modi Used Hatred in Campaign, We Used Love', Says Rahul Gandhi After Casting Vote in Delhi
Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately after casting his vote in New Delhi.
New Delhi, May 12: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately after casting his vote in New Delhi. Speaking to reporters outside the polling booth at Aurangzeb Lane in the New Delhi constituency, Gandhi said that the election was fought on key issues including demonetization, farmer problems, Goods and Services Tax and corruption in the Rafale deal. Gandhi further added, “Narendra Modi used hatred in the campaign and we used love and I am confident love will win” The Congress President also stated that the party would accept people’s mandate. Congress candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat Ajay Maken also accompanied Gandhi to the polling booth. Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also cast her vote in the same polling booth.

Apart from Maken, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Meenakshi Lekhi and Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Brijesh Goyal are also in the fray. Lekhi had won the 2014 parliamentary polls from New Delhi defeating AAP’s Ashish Khaitan. Meanwhile, the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections is taking place in seven constituencies in Delhi. The NCT will witness a triangular contest between the Congress, the AAP and the BJP. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
