New Delhi, May 30: The countdown has begun for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony to kick off at 7 pm in Rashtrapati Bhawan today. All preparations are in place as PMO, Rashtrapati Bhawan officials and BJP workers are busy in giving the final touch to make the ceremony rememberable and historic.
Over 8,000 invitations to prominent dignitaries have been sent and all security arrangements are complete. In short, all in- charge of their assigned sections know that there is no place for even a minute mistake, when Narendra Modi will take oath for the second consecutive time as Prime Minister of India. Now, considering the point that this occasion is a chance for BJP to show their power in the world's biggest democracy and prove their worth, every minute detail is being taken care of. Not only this, arrangements are personally being monitored by senior PMO officials and senior BJP office bearers.
According to the information, PMO has sent the invitation to Bimstec countries as well as Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth - who have all confirmed their presence. They would be treated with high tea, followed by a private dinner by President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Along with chief ministers of several states, steel magnate LN Mittal is also expected to be present. Even opposition leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have confirmed their presence, while chief ministers of West Bengal, Kerala and Odisha have excused themselves from the event citing political reasons.
It is to be known that during 2014, about 5,000 guests attended the event at the same venue and this time, the number has raised to 8,000. Now soon after the swearing-in would be over, list of Modi 2.0 Union Ministers will also be declared and the 17th Lok Sabha session will come into effect.
