Dharamshala, December 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a fresh salvo at the Congress while addressing a rally Jan Abhar in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala to mark a year of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state. BJP chief Amit Shah and other party leaders were also present at the rally. PM Modi attacked the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) for allocating only Rs 500 crore for ‘One Rank One Pension’ (OROP).  The Prime Minister said, “For forty years, our ex-servicemen asked for 'One Rank, One Pension'. The previous government allocated just Rs. 500 crore for it. But when we came to power, we implemented OROP and ensured the welfare of our ex-servicemen.”

He also said that Himachal is a land of brave soldiers, ever ready for supreme sacrifice. While speaking at the rally, PM Modi lauded the state BJP government led by Jairam Thakur for generating employment opportunities in the state. He said that the state generated employment in the state and also properly utilized the water of the state. Later in the day, PM Modi will meet the beneficiaries of various schemes by the BJP government. Meanwhile, Congress today submitted 'charge sheet' against one year of BJP Government in Himachal Pradesh, to the office of Governor. The Himachal Congress will observe the one year of the BJP government in the state as ‘Nikamma Diwas’.
