Prime Minister Narendra Modi Hands Over 'Chadar' for Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Offers on Behalf of PM

New Delhi, March 2: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said in a statement said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over a "chadar" to be offered at Ajmer Sharif Dargah on the occasion of 807th Urs. Linking Islam with Terror Insults Muslims: Ajmer Dargah Head.

Naqvi also told news agency ANI that a 10-member delegation comprising of Sayyed Moin Hussain, Sheikhzada Abdul Jrar Chishty and others met PM Narendra Modi today where the PM offered the "chadar" to be submitted at the Dargah.

The delegation which met PM Modi were reportedly touched by the gesture. Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the "Chadar" and his message in New Delhi to the delegation led by Union Minority Affairs Minister Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. The "Chadar" will be presented at Ajmer Sharif Dargah on behalf of the Prime Minister on the occasion of 807th Urs.

All roads leading to Ajmer in Rajasthan will be jammed with heavy traffic as devotees will throng in large numbers to commemorate the 807th Urs of Ajmer Sharif. The Ajmer Sharif Dargah, a shrine of sufi saint, Moinuddin Chishti is located at Ajmer, Rajasthan. The shrine has the Maqbara (grave) of the revered saint Chisti.

The Urs festival is an annual festival held at Ajmer which commemorates the death anniversary of the Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti. It must be noted that Chisti is the founder of the Chishtiya Sufi order in India.
