New Delhi, May 30: The swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to take place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on May 30 at 7 PM. The Prime Minister will be sworn in for the second time after a spectacular election victory in the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections 2019. According to reports, the Prime Minister has a huge gene pool to choose from to induct ministers in his new Camelot. Speculation is rife in political circles on the composition of the new ministers in the Modi Cabinet this time.
With nearly 80 members in the previous Cabinet, lots of names to fill the posts abound. If sources are to be believed, BJP president Amit Shah is likely to take a high-profile seat in the Modi Cabinet and may replace Rajnath Singh as Home Minister. Jaitley, in his Facebook post on Wednesday, wrote to the Prime Minister to allow him a reasonable time to undergo treatment for his ailing health. However, a decision on their positions will be taken after the Union council of ministers is sworn in on Thursday evening by the President. Another minister from the Modi Cabinet who may opt out this time is External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as she is not in the best of health. Apparently, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje may be the potential face for the post. Meanwhile, Smriti Irani, who defeated Congress President Rahul Gandhi from his pocket borough of Amethi, may get the top post of Defence Ministry, with her magnificent win. Reports inform that if Amit Shah joins the Cabinet and takes charge of the Home Minister, Rajnath Singh may become the new Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad may be moved to a more prominent ministry after his landslide win in Patna Sahib in Bihar.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari may continue with the work assigned to him while telecom will have a new minister as Manoj Sinha is one of the prominent losers in the BJP. Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is expected to get a higher cabinet rank in the Modi Cabinet this time as he is the most prominent Muslim face in the Prime Minister's team of ministers.
HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar is also likely to be elevated to an important position. In the Narendra Modi Cabinet 2.O, there is going to be an infusion of new blood and representation to states where the BJP has done exceedingly well including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Bihar.
