Narendra Modi Appointed As Prime Minister of India For Second Consecutive Term After BJP's Resounding Victory in Lok Sabha Elections 2019

New Delhi, May 25: Narendra Modi on Saturday was appointed as the Prime Minister of the country after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) delegation handed over a letter of support to President Ram Nath Kovind. The delegation was headed by the BJP president Amit Shah. The swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi is likely to take place on May 30. Earlier in the day, PM Modi was elected as the leader of the NDA. He also chaired the NDA parliamentary meet which was held at Sansad Bhawan in New Delhi. During his address, he said that India voted for pro-incumbency in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He added that his government will not only work for those who had shown trust in the NDA, but also for those whose trust is yet to win by the party.

The BJP secured a thumping victory in the recently concluded parliamentary polls. The NDA secured 352 seats, out which the saffron party bagged 303 seats. The Congress on the other side failed to left any mark in these elections. The grand old party did not even touch the thee-figure mark. Meanwhile, the seat share of Others was also restricted to 97.
