Dehradun, May 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ajay Bhatt of won the Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar Lok Sabha seat on Thursday. The counting of votes for the Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttarakhand was held on Thursday, May 23. Polling in the Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar parliamentary seat took place in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 on April 11. The counting of votes began at 8 AM today, May 23. The constituency number of the Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar Lok Sabha Constituency is 4 and is not reserved for any category. This constituency came into existence in 2009, following the delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded the state unit chief Ajay Bhatt from Nainital in the Lok Sabha election 2019.

The politician got the opportunity after former chief minister and the BJP’s sitting parliamentarian BS Koshiyari declined to contest from the seat.
