While Tripura went to the polls on 18 February, elections were held in Nagaland and Meghalaya on 27 February. The Election Commission officials said that the counting will happen in all the three poll-bound northeastern states- Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland, elections for which were held in February.

In Nagaland, the BJP has joined hands with the NDPP that was floated by former chief minister Neiphiu Rio. The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) chief Neiphiu Rio was declared elected unopposed in the state. The election for 59 seats of the 60-member state assembly was held on February 27.
The State Election Commission on Friday ordered re-polling in 11 booths across nine constituencies for the Nagaland State Assembly elections. The announcement was made by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland. The nine constituencies, where the re-polling is to be held, are Tamlu, Peren, Kohima Town, Chizami, Phek, Meluri, Tizit, Pungro-Kiphire and Llongkhim-Chare.
