The final results of Mysore City  Corporation (MCC) have been declared by the State Election Commission. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious on 22 of the 65 seats, followed by the Congress which has won 19. The JD(S) stood third with 17 of its candidates winning. 5 Independents and 1 from the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) have also won.

Results of 61 of the 65 wards of Mysore City Corporation has been declared by the State Election Commission. The BJP has so far emerged as the single largest party with wins on 21 seats, followed by the JD(S) which has won 17 seats. The Congress is trailing third with victories on 16 seats, whereas, 5 Independents and 1 candidate of a small party have also emerged victorious. Counting is currently underway for the remaining 4 seats.

The three-cornered poll scenario in Karnataka was reflected in the results of Mysore City Corporation 2018, as no party is likely to cross the half-way mark. While the BJP is leading on 18 seats, the JD(S) is ahead on 13, followed by the Congress on 10. The SDPI is leading from 3 wards. The results so far has been declared of 43 out of the 65 wards. The BJP, which is the single-largest so far, requires 15 more seats to cross the halfway mark.

Trends continue to put the BJP ahead on 18 seats, while the official results declared by the SEC on 35 out of the 65 wards proclaims the party victorious on 13 seats. The JD(S) has been declared the winner on 10 seats, while the Congress has bagged 8. The Bahujan Samaj Party has won 1 seats.

While the BJP is leading on 18 seats as per the trends, the official results of 13 wards have been declared by the SEC so far. The BJP is leading with wins on 5 seats, followed by the JD(S) on 4, Congress and BSP on 1 each.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading on 18 seats of the Mysore City Corporation. The Janata Dal (Secular) is ahead on 13, whereas, the Congress is leading on 10 wards. Notably, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) is ahead on 3 wards. The trends so far have emerged on 44 of the 65 MCC seats.

The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), considered as a hardline pro-Muslim outfit, is leading on 3 minority-dominated wards in the Mysore City corporation. The performance will come as a setback for the Congress which was relying on the support of the minority community.

Although the Kumaraswamy-led JD(S) is emerging as the second runner-up in urban local bodies polls across the state, it is leading in the coveted Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) elections. The party is ahead in 4 seats, followed by the Congress in 3 and BJP in 2.

Mysuru, Sep 3: The result of Mysore City Corporation election 2018 will be declared today. Counting of votes for Mysore City Corporation election result will begin at 8 am. Polling in 65 wards of Mysore City Corporation in Karnataka was held on August 31. The urban local body elections were held almost four months after the Assembly polls in the state. Catch live updates on Mysore City Corporation election result here. The major contest is between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as both fielded candidates on all 65 seats of Mysore City Corportaion. The Janata Dal (Secular) nominated its candidates on just 23 seats of the civic body. The urban local body polls, including Mysore City Corportaion election, are being seen as litmus test for the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in Karnataka that was formed just over 100 days ago.

The Mysore City Corporation election result and outcome of other local bodies will indicate the public perception about the JD(S)-Congress coalition government, led by HD Kumaraswamy, ahead of crucial 2019 Lok Sabha elections. On August 31, polling was held for 102 urban local bodies across the state.

Polling was held in 2,529 wards spread over 29 city municipalities, 53 town municipalities and 23 town panchayats and in 135 wards of three city corporations - Mysore, Tumakuru and Shivamogga. Polling in Somwarpet, Virajpet and Kushalnagar local bodies was postponed due to onset of heavy rains leading to flash floods in Kodagu district, earlier this month.
