New Delhi, March 28: The Indian National Congress leader Divya Spandana on Wednesday wrote a letter to the Election Commission of India (ECI) complaining about the violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC). In the letter to ECI, Spandana complained that some social media pages are allegedly "offering free gifts to voters enticing them to support Modi." NAMO TV Channel Live on Dish TV and Videocon DTH Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

In a letter to Chief Election Commissioner, New Delhi, Spandana, said, "It has come to our attention that via the media (website link) that, the Bharatiya Janata Party via facebook page "My First Vote For Modi" https://www.facebook.com/myfirstvoteformodi2019 is enticing voters to vote for Modi with free gifts." Mission Shakti: EC to Examine PM Narendra Modi's Address to Nation After Opposition Parties Claim Violation of Model Code of Conduct.

Adding that the website is luring people with "gifts such as badges, bags, T-shirts, phone covers, caps, etc. These 'gifts' also available for sale on the site merchandise.narendramodi.in". She further said that these social media pages and the network of websites should be taken down immediately.

Meanwhile, the ECI will examine PM Modi's speech on 'Mission Shakti after several political parties raised concern over his address on Wednesday. Some reports state that panel led by Sandeep Saxena will look into the matter and decide if the speech violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
