Lucknow, May 23: The results of the Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha Constituency will be declared today. The counting of votes began on the Parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh at 8 AM on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for the Muzaffarnagar seat in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 11. A total voter turnout of 64 per cent was recorded in this phase of polling in UP, as per Election Commission of India. Muzaffarnagar constituency is one of the eighty Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The parties declared their candidates from the seat as well as independent candidates filed affidavit. The Congress has declared Narendra Kumar as its candidate from the seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given ticket to Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, the sitting MP from the seat while Ajit Singh, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief has also declared that he would be fighting from the constituency.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Sanjeev Baliyan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the seat with 6,49,938 votes beating Kadir Rana of the BSP who came a distant second with 2,48,788 votes.

Lok Sabha Elections 2019 took place across the country between April 11 and May 23. While voting took place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, the General Election results is scheduled to be announced on Thursday, May 23.
