Mumbai, November 25: Due to the political drama taking place in the city, the hotels in the city have witnessed a boost in check-ins. According to a Times of India report, right after President's rule was imposed in the state on November 12, parties started moving their MLAs into hotels to keep an eye on any poaching activities.
Ahead of floor test for Devendra Fadnavis with the help of Ajit Pawar, rivals Shiv Sena, NCP-Congress have intensified the movement of MLAs to several hotels across the city. Hotels across the city from Lemon Tree Premier to JW Mariott, Hyatt Regency to the Renaissance, are being used to keep the MLAs. The Supreme Court on Sunday directed the Maharashtra government, to submit two letters; 1) Governor's letter inviting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form a government in Maharashtra 2) letter of support submitted by Fadnavis. Following which, the apex court will examine the two documents today and then pass an order regarding the floor test in Maharashtra.
Two of the four MLAs of NCP-Anil Patil and Daulat Daroda, who were reportedly missing have been brought to Mumbai from Delhi. They were brought from Delhi by Sonia Doohan, President of NCP's Nationalist Student Congress and Dheeraj Sharma, President of NCP's Nationalist Youth Congress.
A huge drama unfolded with regards to the political situation in Maharashtra when Devendra Fadnavis formed the government with the help of NCP's Ajit Pawar, who was appointed as the Deputy CM. However, party supremo Sharad Pawar accused that it was the sole decision of Ajit to go ahead with BJP and he was not informed.
